Great equipment, I personally owned a Takeuchi 1140. The mini excavator is reliable and precise, I tested it on a construction site myself, highly recommended. It also comes with an added bonus of speed in terms of configuration, which is very convenient but not available in all models, as it depends on the assembly or other factors since this option is not popular and working with a bucket is generally characteristic for mini excavators. Generally, this equipment is rarely used in specific cases. Additionally, it has an optional air conditioner installed. In short, it is a comfortable, fast, and reliable excavator, I love this machine.

I like that this Japanese machine is very compact. I have a small suburban area and a huge machine would never fit on it. I rented this mini excavator for a week to dig a trench for a gas pipeline. The rubber tracks minimize damage to the soil, so there is no harm to the ground. The bucket is just right and it handles the work quickly. I don't know about its maintenance and repairs since it was a rental. In conclusion, I believe that the Takeuchi can be placed on the same level of quality as Caterpillar or Kubota.

A decent mini excavator that I bought for my farm and construction work. I had the choice of renting it constantly or buying one for myself, so I opted for a used one. It has its pros and cons; the maintenance can be a bit expensive, but you can really get a lot of different jobs done with it that I wouldn't have thought of before. I don't plan on selling it anytime soon; I sometimes rent it out, which is convenient. The guys who have used it have been satisfied with its performance. The excavator itself is fairly lightweight and doesn't handle large volumes of work at once, but it is convenient to use in its own way. I haven't had any major repairs done yet, except for a minor hydraulic issue, but I haven't pushed it to its limits either. It doesn't have any fancy features in terms of controls; it came in a basic configuration.

The Takeuchi TB016 is a really small machine, weighing only 1.6 tons. And that's its only advantage. When it comes to maintenance and repairs, the Japanese are quite expensive, and it often broke down even with not too heavy workloads. In general, Takeuchi machines seem to be one of the least repair-friendly excavators. At least, messing around with it was not enjoyable, and we had to do it often because problems arose with the "structure" and with the hydraulics and hydraulic cylinders. The rotating platform started to wobble, and there were many other minor issues that I can't remember. In short, this excavator was a complete disappointment for a not insignificant amount of money.
